Sermon Reflection

Some highlights from this morning's sermon "We Have an Advocate" on 1 John 2:1-2....

"My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."

Jesus is three things in these verses: "an advocate", "Jesus Christ the righteous", "the propitiation."

"If confession isn't a part of your life, then you are NOT in Christ!"

"the sweet thing about the church is that the ground is level at the cross."

"Be specific about your sinfulness." 1 John 1:9
